About

Egan Green grew up around Asheville, North Carolina.  Being raised up in the Appalachian Mountains, he was exposed to lots of bluegrass and folk music at public events, while at home Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash were regularly on the record player.  Those influences impacted his musical interests, but it was rock and roll music that hooked him most.  By the time he started playing guitar seriously while attending Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, his diversity of musical influences turned him toward a unique style of playing, singing, and writing.  He’s been said to have a quiet intensity that emerges in some of the gritty stories in his songs.  His vocals often convey this, but can also show remarkable range from raspy to mellow.  His shows evoke a range of emotions that make the performance fun, while evoking everything from melancholy to joy.  The shows are fun, and always entertaining.  After one show where the crowd was cheering enthusiastically, the venue’s host told the crowd, “I told you that you would see some great entertainers on this stage, and you just saw one of the best.”
